pretty sure the batman forever music is the same. I heard soukyuugurentai had some differences but I never heard what they were. I know there's added content on the saturn version of radiant silvergun (collectible animals). I thiiiink one of the tanto-r games isn't on the saturn if you care about that. I don't remember any differences at all with Souky tbh and not for the music. I do remember mind AM#2 in a interview saying the sound board for ST-V was slightly difference and boosted up for performance for sound, but it was vague (maybe they meant sound memory) At a guess I would imagine the sound for Steep Slope Sliders on the ST-V not to be as good as the awesome CD-DA Saturn music tracks either.

Wished I never got rid. I found the music in Die Hard Arcade on ST-V to be way inferior but the lack of loading made it play a far better game. That's the only game I found better on ST-V and the lack of loading made a huge difference
Its been ages but I can't remember hearing any difference with Batman Forever music on the Saturn version (it too has nice chip music) seem to remember more slowdown though and a lots of animation missing compared to the ST-V game, more so on the backgrounds. The game gets a lot of hate but I found it to be fun.
I was never able to source Final Arch off my import shop. I remember a few in the shop saying where they had it on ST-V that it had amazing 3D polygon graphics and better than the Saturn WSB games. I'm not sure though I never saw it.

Well, I managed to pick up independence day and while its a little rough around the edges, its quite good fun to play. Quite happy and wished I picked it up, back when it came out My work here is complete. Another who has come to see Independence is actually a decent title I was quite surprised at how nice and fun it is to play. That's what I like the most, its simple pick and play fun. Something missing, in a lot of games these days

Soukyugurentai is the king of all shooters but then I would say Guardian Force and Layer Section both of which are often overlooked and underrated

I've never played Independence Day but read its really nice and much better than the PS version (which is always nice to read too) I really enjoy Independence Day for what it's worth. It goes some decent reviews at the time too. But I never liked the film and never got round to picking the game up. May have too now, I guess

I loved Soviet Strike but it was just a little too hard. Thunderhawk was good but I still feel the Mega CD game was better, I too also enjoyed AB II and Wing Arms. I have to say Black Dawn is really good, Darkflight is nice and loved flying around in Bulk Slash, Panzer Dragoon (if one can count them as flying games)

The game was horrible and I was so looking forward to it with the Hype the early game was getting and since it was coming from the SEGA's Away team. I remember the developers telling Mean Machines SEGA that it was using a new GFX technique for the polygons, and after all the that, the finished game looked a complete mess and played like a Dog; and was another SEGA West game simply too hard for its own good.

As far as the game controls on the Saturn , it works fine, certainly no worse than the PS1 (though I do think the PS pad's button layout is better for Tomb Raider, the d-pad is better on Saturn) Oh Yeah, it plays better with the Saturn pad, much like Resident Evil and Jonah Lomu Ruby on the Saturn.

I don't get the comments about TR's graphics 'not aging well', if I'm honest. They look exactly like they always did. How can anyone say, on a retro-gaming forum!, that the visuals haven't aged well? Does that apply to all 32-bit graphics? Panzer Dragoon (and Zwei) look rough nowadays, but that doesn't stop them being great games. Sega Rally vehicles look like they're made of Lego, but it's still the benchmark for a lot of people where racing games are concerned. The playability comments are fair because, it always was a Marmite game. One pixel too far left or right and it was frustrating to pick up health packs, especially whilst being attacked. Same goes for Resident Evil: I personally disliked the controls and really struggled with the game. The "If you can look past all that and put yourself in a 1996 mindset, it is still a well made game with a memorable atmosphere." comment from Barry sums TR up best, IMO, because at the time I remember the clamour and noise and anticipation around this seminal title. All the mags were desperate to play it, all gaming talk was TR this and Lara Croft that. It was a phenomenon and it opened the floodgates for a deluge of copycat and better titles. It seems a bit disrespectful to dismiss TR in a sentence like "Meh, it looks shit nowadays", when pretty much everything from the early days of 3D looks ropey when viewed through a modern gaming lens. I post this respectfully to open debate, not to start a flame war, but the gfx aging thing I feel is such a hackneyed and meaningless saying. Panzer Dragoon is set in a fantasy world that doesn't age as much imo, plus the game features better art direction and runs in a higher res mode, features a better frame rate ect ect. It's the controls that kills Tomb Raider game for me, they weren't very good back in the day, and they are just terrible today. And saying a game looks old and has aged, doesn't lessen the game impact it had back in the day. Virtual Fighter on both the Saturn and Model 1 Arcade hardware as aged; That still doesn't lessen the impact the game had back in the day, some 3D games age more than others. I remember being jaw dropped playing NFL 2K on my Dreamcast, going back to play the game today, the gfx have aged quite badly. That doesn't look to lessen the impact the game had back in 1999 though

No, not only has the gfx aged but the game controls like a dog these days. It's so painful to play Tomb Raider with its controls (on any classic system) All Tomb Raider classic games controlled quite a poor mind, until Crystal Dynamics took over.

Yeah, Wolf Fang looks alright but I'm not really sold on it. If you don't care much for Super then I'd be happy to take it off your hands! LOL. it's not that I'm not happy with it. its just I don't think it's worth the money. I don't think Blast Wind is worth the money at all or Hyper Dual. I was lucky that I got them back in the day. I do can see why some Saturn users will pay for the likes of RSG or Taromaru; both are games that really push and use the Saturn hardware, same goes for Panzer Dragon Saga.

I've got Stellar Assault. It's cheap and great! Radiant Silvergun isn't my cup of tea though, so I won't be grabbing that. I think I am going to go with Super Tempo to be honest. Reminds me a lot of stuff like Keio and EWJ, which I'm a big fan of. Also the Taromaru prices lately are a little silly. I got both Super Tempo and Taromaru. Tbh Super doesn't play great and really doesn't make much use of the Saturn other than some nice odd spot effects and some nice scrolling off the VDP 2. Taromaru makes much better use of the Hardware. Have you got Wolf Fang ? That could be up your street and its price is going up all the time
