You can just use the Google Translate photo thing that converts it in real time. The outcome may not be the greatest. It was hit and miss when I used to do that before starting to actually learn some basic Japanese. Also, Grandia is available on PS1 in English. The graphics are a little inferior on PS1, but that's about it. Yeah I originally hated the PS1 dub and the graphics on the Saturn version were flawless so it was a no brainer for me. I will probably play Grandia Museum one day. I have a PS3 now so maybe I'll find it on the ps3 store. Even though I'm not keen on the PS1 Version I did buy it from the PS3 store. I love that dub. The battle system is also one of, if not THE best battle system I've ever experienced in an JRPG, and that's coming for someone who writes for RPGamer lol.

I like tomb raider mostly for nostalgic values I can still play it and love it. burning rangers however is sega in your face! doing stuff with hardware that was never supposed to do that. kick ass music! excellent controls (with 3d controller) style over substance and quality over quantity. a short game but one you can constantly go back to. never played croc. is the 3do version the best version, like with almost all 3do ports? AFAIK Croc isn't on 3DO. Are you thinking of Gex?

I first played it on PS1, and absolutely adore it. I even love the cheesy English voice track! :3 Have you played Grandia Museum on Saturn? Haven't played that one. As much as I didn't mind sitting through the Saturn version with translations scripts I'm in no rush to do it again for awhile if I'm honest. That's if the dialogue is as heavy as the first game. You can just use the Google Translate photo thing that converts it in real time. The outcome may not be the greatest. It was hit and miss when I used to do that before starting to actually learn some basic Japanese. Also, Grandia is available on PS1 in English. Grandia is one the the very best games ever made. How am I the only one who is voting for it? I even have Grandia Musesum for Saturn! I almost voted for Grandia so many times. It was hard not to vote for it as it was fresh in my mind having completed the Saturn version only a few months back but PDS just edged it for me. I'm glad you voted for it though as it so didn't deserve to be on no votes. I first played it on PS1, and absolutely adore it. I even love the cheesy English voice track! :3 Have you played Grandia Museum on Saturn?

I was responding to Sych's post... Fair enough, but why do people bitch about HotD graphics on Saturn? Look no worse than VC2 to me.

Damn Im starting to hate these polls! They just tug at me so much! TOMB RAIDER is excellent and I oddly enjoy it as much today if not more. CROC is the best mascot Spyro/Mario/family style 3D platformers on the system. Its really one of the only ones we got but it was absolutely a great one. I asked for this game back when it came out but didn't get it until a couple years ago. Very colorful and plays excellent on the system. BURNING RANGERS is a crazy game. My opinion has been all over the place. I was fascinated by the game upon release despite not playing it until 15 years later. I absolutely love the graphics in the game despite some of the glitches. Love the way it looks, love the little tricks they pulled off. The look of the bosses and polygon explosions are top notch. Very colorful. The engine is great. The flying is actually much deeper than most people give it credit for. Full movement with different "combo" moves you can do mid air. The story actually isnt that bad its just never fully fleshed out. The small amount of levels is frustrating because you simply want to play more. However the randomly generated levels idea almost saves the omission of more maps. The first time I replayed the game and I found a new room I was pretty excited. Ive probably played through BR 10+ times now. The game has grown on me each time. Rescuing all of the people is now my new goal. Its certainly a game that you wish had a full development cycle but taken for what it is, its a unique cool Sonic Team game that is worth playing. Very hard but I actually will vote Burning Rangers despite my liking for the other 2 titles. But what about the graphics bug in Croc unless it's booted from the CD player?

because shining force 3 and panzer dragoon saga are the very best games ever made. at least outside of shenmue for me. Panzer Dragoon Saga/Azul is good sure. The battle system is really cool. Shining Force III is also really good, but neither match Grandia IMHO.

If the controls for Croc on Saturn are as dodgy as they are on PS1, then easily the other 2.

I completely agree. Anything polygon on the Saturn is appreciated even if its not too clean IMO. Yes the textures weren't optimized as they would have been if they had more time, but overall its a colorful gritty game even in its current form. You mean HofD?

Alright, I ordered a TOP202YAI and a TOP224YN from a reputable German shop. I will report back in a couple of days when the parts arrive. Thanks for your help so far Good luck mate.

The trace in the middle is joined to the heat sink, that's ok. I don't get why anybody would fake ICs like that, but it's the only thing I changed. They were very cheap though. (I've checked that all capacitors were discharged before soldering, so even shorting anything by accident should damage a component.) What's a reliable (and cheap) source to get the TOP224YN or TOP234YN from? The big component distributors like Mouser and DigiKey have very expensive shipping costs. Do any of you guys have one that I can buy? The varistor looks fine visually, is there any way to test it? Before I can do any further testing I have to order a couple of fuses though. This is way above my level of expertise for Saturn mate. Try asking on the assembler games forums.
