Thank you to shedcade for selling me his copy of Sonic 3D for £5 shipped! The case and manual were in pretty great condition despite their age. Will probably buy from again when I have more money

that's funny, However how do you record this to youtube from your Saturn ? Ah, while I could have captured my Saturn, I used the record feature in SSF 12... you hold shift and press F9, and it starts recording. Then, download aviutl, and extract the folder. When you've done that, copy "SSFV_Reader.aui" from the SSF folder to the aviutl folder, then you can open up your captured footage in aviutl (note: your captured video will be in a folder called "Snapshot in the SSF folder). A problem is, the audio is recorded in a different file, so you must import the audio from the folder "Wave" in your SSF folder. At the bottom of aviutl, you will see 4 arrows... click the last one on the right, as this will make it so it exports the whole video when the time comes. To export it as a complete video, click "File" and then click "Save AVI", and choose your own settings. Good luck! Just a quick note, if you're using Windows 7, change aviutl's compatibility to "XP Service pack 3", and everything is good to go. I may even make a video tutorial for this when I get my channel back!

Was goinbg to record the credits from CK1 today, and this happened...
I added the music at the end myself, but I thought it was an interesting screen.
Anyone come across any crash screens in other Saturn games?

does Tongara ACTUALLY look like Clockwork Knight? (the last one I imagine *could* be true ) LOL?! No, I look like a 14 year old emo/visual kei kid (despite being 21). =P

Game looks amazing, especially for a launch title. I'll be sure to check it out. Glad to hear it! The second game (part 2) is better than the first game, but they are both worth a play through. ^^

Ah, impressive feat of reverse engineering, but pulling apart an old 68000 game is an awful lot easier than trying to disassemble a Saturn game. Oh, of course! It was easier with the Sonic games as most of the data locations had been documented for years previous, so it was just a matter of writing is as ASM and making is into a text/bin split. Most Saturn games have never been touched, and probably never will.

Here are two further videos that I didn't notice on your YouTube channel - the second is from a very late beta version, but has quite a few minor differences (including the placeholder music I mentioned earlier, plus alternate sounds in places along with a preliminary HUD design): www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9032049 (time reference: 04:47-05:32) www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9048711 (time reference: 05:29-07:27) P.S. Did you say artwork on the final Clockwork Knight game discs was found in a Mega Drive format? I've heard from a lot of programmers who revealed that prior to the Sega Graphics Library being finalised in mid-to-late 1995, 16-bit era tile editors were still used in Saturn developments. Thank you, I'll check those out! I hope you don't mind me nicking those for my channel! And some of the graphics in CK1/2 can be viewed in Genesis format using tile layer pro, yes. That is some pretty cool info, btw, as things make more sense now!

Ported to the 32X? As in he had the source code? The first few Sonic games were disassembled years ago, dude.

Sonic 1 was hacked to support a 32X? In what capacity? drx or Stealth from Sonic Retro ported Sonic 1 to the 32x a few years back.

Well, people were able to hack Sonic 1 to support the 32X and the Sega CD, so I don't think hacking in RAM cart support would be any more difficult than that. Also, isn't it possible to convert RAM hacks to hex values and apply them to the game code using a hex editor? P.S. Tongara, did you manage to find any artwork in the Clockwork Knight series that cannot normally be accessed during the games? Considering the development team "did a Sonic 3" and split the game into two standalone titles, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot changed over the period of production. Come to think of it, have you seen the prototype clip of CK1 that has an early draft of a song later used in the sequel? Nothing out of the ordinary, as I didn't get around to trying to decompress anything, sorry. Some things such as the "press start button" text in CK2 can be edited in Tile Layer pro, by viewing the art in "genesis" format. And I may have possibly. I uploaded a video to youtube on my now closed channel (peterhanloncouk) that monokoma uploaded to youtube about a month after I did, but them being a big site, more people saw their version. If this isn't the one you're talking about, then please direct me to what you speak of. btw, my Clockwork Knight channel is www.youtube.com/clockworkknightweb/ , so I may have already uploaded the video you speak of!

There's hacks of Sonic R? Where? Also I'd be curious to see someone try to hack some of the earlier 2D Fighters to support the RAM carts. Namely Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 while also fixing the other issues with those ports. On Sonic Retro. I think MainMemory was hacking the PC and Saturn version. I believe there was a nights hacking discussion there once, but that may have been at X-CULT.

I managed to hack some art in Clockwork Knight 2 once, so hacking is possible for sure.
