I think another good option would be to do it laptop style and craft a fat PS2 screen onto the top of the saturn that folds down, not sure what to do power wise though!

A portable Saturn would not work for the simple reason that we don't have a small enough Saturn board that could be fit in a small case. (and the cd-rom unit has no anti-skip protection either, so most games wouldn't even properly load) There was a portable DC i recall made using a psone screen and had the disc spinning on the back upside down, and without a cover, will try digging up some pics! The Treamcast. No mate it wasn't a treamcast, this was battery operated and looked like an oversized DC controller, will have a look for it on ben heck a bit later when i get home

Threatening as in legal action dude, i've got a paper trail that shows he's a con artist, and i've tried poking the laser quite a bit, maybe i'll give it one more go! does anyone know if the ribbon cables work either way? not sure it was the right way round when i plugged it in but didn't think that would make a difference

Removed the chip, put the machine back to standard, and still the same problem I fear it could be a burned out motor on the drive, micks sorting me a replacement saturn and yeah that guy was mentioned there, that fucker will get whats coming to him i plan on sending some threatening mail and then paying him a visit!

Well my import machines won't play PAL optimised games, i've since gotten rid of my last remainign jp saturn they have all been sold over the last year, the one machine that was supposed to be the ultimate saturn i was having modified well I ended up being conned on that one.
The chap fitted a mod chip and region mod, then sold it to someone else, can't get in contact with him either! That machine would of played all games perfectly oh well, so now using a pal machine and an AR cart for import games!

Just tried the cotton bud on the lense, no such luck, does anyone know if I could put the mod chip into a model 1 or would it be easier to transfer it to another model 2

Ok mate I'll try that, hopefully pulling out the ribbons and reseating them hasn't caused any other issues!
