Didn't like the World Series Baseball games at all but Frank Thomas Baseball is very good. Everyone has their own tastes. But I will say that I've been collecting Saturn since launch and this is the first time I've ever heard anyone say that. I'd put Frank Thomas and its sequel All-Star baseball in the worst category along with the Jaleco baseball game whose name escapes me at the moment. Gotta agree with Brad on this one. World Series Baseball was an AMAZING game. I'm really not even a baseball guy but I played this game for hours and hours back in the day. & when I started re-collecting Saturn games again, it was one of the first titles I made sure to get! Classic game.

Amazed that no one has yet mentioned a certain beat-em-up. Edit: The above picture was a super obvious clue.

Which beat'em'up are you referring to? I think Batman Forever has already been mentioned. All the other beat'em'ups on the Saturn are pretty good.

So it is a Beat 'em' up. I never knew. For some reason I always thought it was a one one fighter. Just watched a review of it online. It looks awful. Usually I buy up all the beat 'em' ups I can as its one of my favourite genre but I think I will be avoiding this. I hope no-one was duped into buying this. It really does look rubbish.

I stay far away from any and all licensed games, unless they have good reviews and come highly recommended. I consider that standard fare, but I suppose many wouldn't know that the game was made to cash in, from a well received movie (that was based on a well received comic book).
I'm sure Crow fans are still crying themselves to sleep.

I'm one of those sh*t people who extracts enjoyment from playing The Crow.
Once you've nailed the... "gameplay"... and understand the nuance of creating distance between your opponent and the point of where your attack impacts (think IK+... or real life, if necessary), then you can get something back.
I like the gritty graphical presentation, the fixed camera angles (believe it or not, as they set better scenes) and the music. SFX and voices are woefully bad, but I find the game playable: Punch, Backfist, Front Kick, Roundhouse and Reverse Hooking Kick your way to justice. Not to mention the weapons.
Hard game though. FYI..

Yeah, I'm one of those weirdos that didn't mind the Crow, either. We're a rare breed 'cause that game is hard as balls and is extracting fun out of the game is like extracting blood from a stone.

FYI.. Totally agree. Got given the game for free by a mate years ago. Gave it a crack and got some enjoyment outta it. Kinda liked the idea of prerendered back grounds and beating the shit out of thugs in what i can only assume was bondage gear.

Blast Chamber comes to mind.
Very disappointing game! I remember seeing a giant advertisement for Blast Chamber in one of my video game magazines and it featured a 4-player mutliplayer mode with revolving rooms, and explosives which sounded awesome! So I went ahead and bought via COD Robo Pit (which was awesome) and Blast Chamber. The gameplay was soo slow and every time the stage revolved the game froze, the graphics were also very grainy and hard on the eyes. Overall not what I've expected!
Robo Pit was one of my first Saturn games back in 1998, still adore that game. Never got around playing the sequel for PS1 tho.

Great clue, City of Angels is a terrible game mind you I have heard that the Japanese Crow Battle Action for Sega Saturn isn't that great a game either, despite it being very pricey these days. Oh and has anyone mentioned Virtual Hydlide yet, mate just finished another video, shocking RPG.

The Crows Battle Action is a good game. It's not brilliant but it's not terrible either. Definitly doesn't warrant the high price tag but there are far worse games out there. It does give you the option to build your combos up which is something not very common with the beat 'em' ups. I like it a lot but only in short bursts

No, no mention of Virtual Hydlide yet. Personally I quite liked Virtual Hydlide. The Saturn's only open world game, to the best of my knowledge. Not one of the system's more polished RPGs, but it has its own unique gameplay style, and the dungeon and overworld designs feel very organic.
