It lacks things like proper cadence detection and as far as laser disc is concerned its comb filter isn't the best. There's no proper support for true filmmode deinterlacing (3:2 Pulldown) at all. Of course, you don't want that when you're deiniterlacing your PS2, so it's ideal for that.

Hey buckoa, just received my OSSC in the mail today. I like the build quality. For some reason I thought I had a DVI/HDMI cable but it appears I do not. Ordered a cheap adapter off ebay so I unfortunately will have to wait a little longer to test it. The TV Im planning to try it on is a Vizio M320NV (link below). Have you guys tested it on anything similar to that yet? Or is there anything on the spec list below that may raise concern for the OSSC performance? www.vizio.com/m320nv.html

I don't think they sell Visio sets here in the UK so no I've not tested it, but someone on the forums might have.

Indeed it makes no difference, use whichever method is more convenient for you.

Got my adapter in the mail last night.
Spent a couple hours with the OSSC on my Vizio LED TV. Im using SCART to OSSC to HDMI for reference.
I love the built quality of the unit. I enjoy its design and feel. Layout is very good. No complaints there. Just the usual audio output ones but I know thats being addressed. It wasn't all bad since I have a good pair of headphones.
I guess it does exactly what it sets out to do. Im not completely sure yet if the doubler and even tripler does it for my eyes. Mind you I have only been playing on my Sony Trinitron 32" TV for over a year so its tough to beat that experience.
The thing that got me the most excited was the speed. No lag at all. Games ran perfectly responsive unlike when I tried games on my LED before with the cheap scaler.
Visually there seemed to be a lack of pop/color that I saw from my cheap Scart to HDMI scaler.
Maybe a scaler is more for me than a line doubler. The OSSC has great performance but not that extra pop Im looking for when using my LED. Ill probably try to get my hands on a Frameister as I have no way to compare yet.

OSSC passes through RGB exactly to HDMI with no colour space conversion and no noise. This is one of its big advantages over the Framemeister. I'd suggest using the 240p test suite to calibrate your TV properly, it can make a big difference.

Any idea how long the wait generally is and how I check where i'm at in the waiting list for an OSSC? Fairly certain I signed up at the beginning of April, received a newsletter on the 20th April advising another batch was about ready but nothing outside of that.

Hopefully not, as the newsletter said I'm ramping up the batch size for folks willing to put a downpayment.
