I was a big fan of both the PS1 and Saturn back in the late 90's (still am of course!) I would generally satisfy my gaming lusts through both machines, the PS1 had all the latest new games in plentiful supply and if you shopped around didn't always have to cost an arm and a leg. The Saturn on the other hand fitted in beautifully as I was able to buy shed loads of games for dirt chip prices as the stores were only to happy to get shot of them. Saturn games were the rarer and thus more satisfying to find in the wild whereas PS1 titles were more common than Sutton guys and girls on a pub crawl! The underdog/slightly mysterious aspect of the Saturn was an allure for me rather than a put off! Really I am not at all surprised at sales figures but as Mick said, the PS1 was still shifting units in 2006. I will say one thing for sure- I have never discovered a community as good as this for the PS1 and believe me I have tried! It seems that these days the Saturn is seen as odd and quirky and very interesting whilst the PS1 can still be found in plentiful supply for around a tenner and has probably revealed all it's secrets. It seems the Saturns genius was only appreciated after its mainstream commercial death.

Yup, just got hold of a copy and had a elongated bash. There is something about those clunky polygons! VF 2 is obviously King though.

Played a few hours of Virtua Fighter then tried to get to grips with Sega Touring Car, switched to Sega Rally, had a blast on Manx then popped on Tilt.

My 8 year old daughter and I played Virtua Cop 2 for 3 hours solid, she says it's one of the best games she has played. I heartilly concur. APPEARS... that she already has exceptionally good taste in games, thanks to her Dad! Now go forth, and nurture... Cheers mate
