Welcome aboard mate! I was in the States recently visiting family (having an American Missus an' all) I spent a lot of time in North Alabama and Florida and the only game shops I saw anywhere were Gamestop!!! A few years back when the folks lived in Mississippi, there was an excellent retro shop that had the lot, sadly I could only take advantage at the time of the cheap Snes/Genesis games as my Snes is the American version and the Md is universal not forgetting the PS1 games as mine is chipped. Any US posters know of any great retro gaming stores in the North Alabama/South Tennessee area that I can visit next time I go to America?

Welcome aboard, the Saturn is alive and well here! World League Soccer 98, a nice little football sim, I remember playing it for hours. I bought it after I saw it advertised all around Wembley Stadium at the 1998 Play-Off final between Charlton Athletic and Sunderland (The Clive Mendonca Final) rushed out the next day and tried to replicate Sir Clive's great hat-trick on my Saturn--- happy days!

As the Numberedeyes rightly says dont cast off the PS1, many great 32bit experiences are to be had with this fantastic machine, the Saturn is awesome too (obviously!) enjoy them both and welcome to the site, it's the best there is and the PS1 has nothing like it out there!!

NOW is definitely the time to be buying Dreamcast, give it a couple of years and prices will be ridiculous. That's exactly what I have been thinking, I have been on a DC splurge lately. Welcome Stick, great eyecatching intro!

That is an agonizing story, I hope you will not be sans Saturn for long. Post an update when you have more news.

Prabmire- How good is GameFocus? never heard of it but if it's retro in the style of Cex (when it was good) and that place that used to be in Notting Hill (can't recall the name but I got a working C64 for £3 there) then I am interested. Is it (in your view)worth a visit? Welcome to the forum Nate, you have joined-- in my humble opinion one of the finest retro forums in the business-enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome guys, it's great to be on-board. What a fantastic site this is and it's good to know that there is a healthy Saturn fanbase out there. It's a great time for me to get back into the Saturn and as Mick says - exciting times are ahead!!! I am based in Sutton Surrey by the way.

Good day all! I have often visited the site, registered a couple of days ago and this is my first post. It's great to see such an active Saturn community. I first had a Saturn in 1998 (the last days of the Saturn empire I know!!), I got it for £60 and enjoyed it thoroughly. I was always aware that it was the underdog at the time but that somehow made owning it all the more fun. Calamity struck 5 years ago when the old girl died so needing the space I just sold on my Saturn games collection (terrible decision) and absorbed myself in the current gen of consoles. Fast forward to a few months ago and suddenly got a real urge to play Sega games on Sega systems, the Megadrive was first, then I dusted off the Dreamcast- then back to the Master System (where It all began for me as far as consoles went) I even have an Sg-1000 emulator! But there was a gaping hole where the Saturn should be and I got a searing pang for Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter 2, the Saturn version of Tomb Raider, (even Croc!!) and many other classics. I have persuaded the powers that be that the return of a Saturn would be a great idea. I ordered one and am now waiting for it's arrival with great anticipation to recapture those days of carefree gaming! I have to start again from scratch but I can't blooming wait!!!
