One of my favourite subjects this! The Plastic Case variants of the originals.
I still would love to acquire plastic case versions of:
Die Hard Arcade Virtual On Bug Too Clockwork Knight 2 Nights
And urban legends such as the supposed Plastic Cased:
Wing Arms (any one got a pic?) True Pinball (same again)
Would be interested to see the Plastic Case version of Loaded too?...

On my PAL Saturn: Daytona, Quake and Soviet Strike. On my JP Saturn: Daytona CE, Nissan Overdrivin' GTR, Astal and Panzer Zwei. On my Rasp Pi4: Prikura Daisen, Steam Hearts and Cotton Boomerang via Yabause QT On my GPD XD: Panzer Dragoon Saga and Darius 2. I work away from home a lot, so my GPD gets its neck wrung daily. Go on Rossi!!! Clearly playing Saturn on behalf of us all by the looks of things

Round buttons for me!! I think the newer V-saturn is the best looking saturn color scheme, and the plastic feels a bit more matte on the model 2. overall I'm into it. If they could have been bothered to make the ENTIRE Saturn matching blue, top to bottom, I would have said the Model 2 Hi-Saturn was the best looking Saturn you could buy. Now, I still think it's handsome, but I'll be honest, the custom lid / standard base doesn't impress me too much.

Model 2 for me. Just prefer the unified body design vs the glued-on cover atop the buttons/lights on the Model 1.

What do you think about the Saturn reproduction games? As with Sega Saturn Dave's Repros, and any repro for any other system in existence, I'm fine with it as long as it didn't exist - basically. Like a PAL or NA version of Metal Slug or Battle Garegga for Saturn, for example? Or that NA rendition of Deep Fear. I quite like it when companies get rights to do a new re-run with new artwork etc to differentiate from the original, like Columbus Circle's Gley Lancer. Minimises effect on the existing market whilst presenting a legit fresh option for all involved - existing owners and prospective market. Great! However, I disagree when PPL actively try to replicate existing games as accurately as possible - like AES/MVS Conversions, all those PCE CD silver pirate games etc. Just out to fool the buyer and then bad buyers fool the future market as not everyone is on the ball. Etc. That's pretty much my take... p.s. are those Dave Repro's pressed or on CD-R?

I own USA, CCE and CE (JPN only) and enjoy all 3. Once you spend an hour adjusting to each 3 you enjoy them all individually. There's a knack to the CCE/CE versions (both play different btw) but once you crack the drifting you'll enjoy them. There's a lot of hate for them because they weren't just USA re-released with nice GFX at 60fps and, truthfully, people put more time and effort into lesser games and claim those games be better than CE & CCE (ie: Touring Cars, MANX TT, which are both terrible btw). Manx TT is particularly offensive as it gets credit when it deserves none. 2 tracks, 1 piece of music (I think), uncompromisingly dogshit rubberbanding AI that makes MarioKart blush, doesn't handle/feel anything like the Arcade (remember Daytona fans, this is a game breaker, apparently!).
F1 Challenge plays well from cockpit with no rear-view mirror but lacks depth. Good for TT challenging yourself though. Always enjoyed the fictional tracks best, personally...

Well, it's been a while since I have been and posted here, but this thread caught my eye!
I own much of what most consider must haves (most of the JPN shmups, fighters, 1st Party SEGA stuff) back when the prices were 'acceptable'. But some stuff slipped through the net unfortunately and this thread has reminded me.
So, not so much this year but just an ongoing Saturn wishlist:
MUST HAVES... G.Vector (JPN) - looks expensive as f*ck now?! SEGA Ages series (JPN) - as never got any of those - Space Harrier, Outrun, Powerdrift, AfterBurner 2, Galaxy Force 2 (did I miss any?) Battle Monsters (PAL) - due to being a Saturn Exclusive fighting game (I have the JPN version) Maximum Force (PAL) - love cheesy FMV titles... even better when theyre a light gun shooter!
REPLACEMENTS... (ie: condition upgrades) Pro Pinball (PAL) Toshinden REMIX (PAL) Golden Axe (PAL) UMK3 (PAL)
MAYBES... Bug Too (PAL) - always fancied it, only own the original Black Fire (PAL) - I know. I know! MEGA MAN X3 (PAL) - I have the JPN version so not essential Darius II (PAL) - I have the JPN version so not essential Darius Gaiden (PAL) - I have the JPN version so not essential Galaxy Fight (PAL) - I have the JPN version so not essential Hi-Octane (PAL) - fancy giving it a go tbh! Mr Bones (PAL) - due to being a Saturn exclusive Pinball Grafitti (PAL) - dont know much about this, well nothing good, but have all the other Saturn pinball games (inc. Fantastic Pinball, thank you!) The Crow (PAL) - I have the JPN version so not essential (guilty pleasure this one!) Valora Valley Golf (PAL) - concept for this is awesome!
Maybe Clockwork Knight 1 & 2 too? Hmmm.
Just some random gaps in my PAL collection vs my JPN collection tbh. I imagine price will have been the prohibitive factor with these vs the superior & cheap JPN releases I already own.
Of course, many want Taromaru but... the cost is 'just say no'.
Probably some stuff I've overlooked but will update my post - not that it matters as broke as can be nowadays! (Kids)
Oh, and hi to those I haven't spoken to in half-a-decade or so. Hope you're all well?

OH AND, YEAH...
Another vote for DHA from me. I like GH but prefer the traditonal straight-forward high-end Arcade-style approach of DHA > the other 2 on offer here.

Btw Micro Machines 1 or Micro Machines: Turbo Tournament? I know this wasn't intended to be an open ended question but... the original MM1 imo has much, MUCH superior handling physics to it's fancier looking sequels imo. MM2 & MM96 are so super slidey slidey, I can hardly enjoy playing the actual game. MM1 is just mega. Especially the MD version (SNES's collision detect was way off unfortunately... NES ver. was surprisingly awesome though!)

NO COMPARISON REALLY...
Need for Speed owns this competition, hands down! Also, the Saturn version of DD is a bit rough looking too.

AMOK IS THE ONE TO WATCH HERE... A really good game and my fave of the 3 on offer here. I did like Assault Rigs too and had it on PS1 back in the day. BLAM! is... ok. Falls into a similar category to Tunnel B1 imo

All 3 are great, however, my favourite of the 3 is Vampire Saviour - thus... gets my vote
