There's nothing different in the Satakore version. It is just a reprint of the regular game with a slightly different packaging, Platinum version it would be called these days. Your reference to Platinum 'these days' made me chuckle. I get what you mean. But the first round of Platinum games (1997) came out over a year before Choro Q Park (1998), and there have been no Platinum releases since 2010. It's all 'Essentials' and 'PlayStation Hits' now. Not as charming but probably to avoid confusion with trophies. Maybe Platinum actually predates Satakore. Does anyone know?

Angry because I want it on my Saturn, and it was planned to come out with extras too. I blame Bernie. I could get on my N64, but I think playing Resi on an N64 controller would just feel off. Fair enough. I was certainly disappointed by it back in '98. Ended up pestering my Dad into getting me a Playstation in the end.

Resident Evil 2 should have appeared in the saturn. The fact that it didnt makes me a little angry inside. Why angry ? It's available on about 5 other platforms. Never releasing Panzer Dragoon Saga anywhere else, now that's a reason to be annoyed.

Another burning rangers would have been nice. Something in the panzer dragoon lore as well. Until a few weeks I have never played Panzer Dragoon stuff but I now I am big fan of the franchise. The first panzer dragoon looks impressive for a saturn game. Another Deep Fear would also be awesome. It was a decent horror game that could coexist with the RE Franchise. I also think that a Underwater Setting is nice thing for a Survial Horror Game. There are way to little Horror games that take place in an underwater setting. Have you seen Narcosis? Might be up your street. (modern game, not Saturn)

The Saturn needed:
EA Hockey - a high speed, high res, super smooth sprite-based update of the Mega Drive classics, not just the ropey early 3D efforts we got.
Something with Toejam and Earl
A top quality side scrolling Streets of Rage sequel. Could've been 2.5D as in Pandemonium.
I would've also liked more Burning Rangers and Panzer Dragoon inspired RPGs, but that would've required the Saturn to not be killed off.

I wouldn't bother with Saturn Doom, the frame rate is terrible. Get it on PS1 or N64. Or PC.
Quake, Duke Nukem and Exhumed are all excellent on the Saturn.

I don't really buy Saturn stuff anymore, except when I see a good auction with items I don't have (mostly promo stuff). Here is my latest purchase, from Japan. Promo stuff everywhere Oooh, some sexy items there! Wonder if there is any Clockwork Knight stuff in there~ I'd be interested to know how and/or why you fell so in love with Clockwork Knight. Have you explained it somewhere? Just curious. Obviously, a gentleman doesn't have to justify anything if he doesn't want to.

Repeated insertion and removal will surely cause it to wear out sooner than leaving the cartridge in the console. even using only the official backup cart? Repeatedly inserting any cartridge will lead to friction and over time, widening and wearing down the slot. Do be careful with it. It was badly made, though to be fair I'm sure the designers didn't envisage the console being used in 2018! That said I've been lucky so far and not had any slot-related problems. Have had a corrupted official memory cart though.

They're a bit thin on the ground on the Saturn. Other than what's already been mentioned, D is horror themed. Alone in the Dark 2 perhaps, though it's meant to be quite poor. Alien Trilogy maybe. There are probably a few Japanese text heavy titles out there. The PS1 is amazing for that genre. www.racketboy.com/retro/the-playstation-ps1-survival-horror-library

All the above are expensive in either English format. #1 and 3 are circa £100.
Just play a burned copy for free if you are not bothered about the collectible element of the games.
Dark Savior and Legend of Oasis are mid priced, but more action RPGs.
Otherwise Shining Wisdom, Virtual Hydlide and Mystaria aren't expensive, though less good apparently.

What about a console that only featured Sega or Sega 3rd party partner-made games? There's definitely still an audience for Sega-style games, you're on the right track in that sense.

Ouch! Talk about getting roasted. People are taking this too seriously. It's just an idea. There's no need to get bent out of shape about it. But what IS the idea? That's the whole point we're trying to make.
