I have two works horse Saturns used as part of development kits and they are still working fine after two decades. don't think they are going out any time soon. Also my other retails Saturns work fine too like my Frenkentised console, V-Saturn, Derby Saturn, White Saturn, and Sonic Saturn to name few.
I believe if you want to look after the laser module the best way would be do NOT run the CD-R but just retails copies.

Is the old Playstation jewel case any use? I was given carton full of NOS many many years ago and put away in the storage. Guess I really need to pull them out and compared next to PS1 and other titles to be sure

when it comes to clean the contact the sure fire way for me is opening the cartridge and then use the super fine nail polishing stick to clean up the contact carefully. this way I successfully brought back multiple N64 carts as well as Saturn and MD carts.

I wish there was hack to add the Saturn Twin Stick support to this title as the rest of series have it...

I believe there are laser module used by Saturn and it's like $20-25 a piece. Certainly cheaper than the Saturn console me think.

I found this among my stash of Saturn titles. I may give it a go near x-mas when my family go to visit in-laws.

well putting 50/60Hz switch is far simpler compared to the region switch.

I don't have the space for CRT - heck I don't even have my study(man cave) any more - so had to do with my old Dell PC monitor. When I saw that Youtube I took a gamble and got the unit from Amazon - was far cheaper on Amazon than eBay for some reason - and at least for me it was money well spent. The PQ from Saturn, Net Yaroze, and RGB N64 are all great on the monitor and certainly good enough not to spend $300+ for FM. If I ever see one at far cheaper price on my next trip to Japan of coz I will grab one but till then the current setup is good enough for me.

if you have relatively recent PC monitor with HDMI input you can use $45 RGB->HDMI upscaler from Amazon. I'm sure FM is amazing but on my Dell PC monitor the PQ is certainly good enough that doesn't warrant the extra expense for FM

personally I'd rather spend the money on games I'm after than FM. Sure it's fantastic piece of gear but its price point is way too high for me. I have absolutely no issue with playing my Saturn on my 21" Dell PC monitor via HDMI using RGB Scart cable. And cost me 1/6 of FM

Grab ActionReplayPlus 4+1 Cart and have someone flash it into Pseudosaturn/ Pseudosaturn Kai Cart. now you can run not only all region titles but also CD-R burned copies as well - well we hope you already have the genuine copy and making the CD-R from that disc. Right?

upscaling is where the normal 240p signal is converted into 720p/1080p so the modern HDTV can understand and display. it's not, however, magic device that somehow making the ordinary uninspiring composite to the vibrant high definition visual - well there's something similar but you are looking at 8 times of Saturn console itself for one. get the RGB Scart Euro cable for Saturn and also RGB Scart->HDMI converter from Amazon. The output from HDMI is pretty good for the money - well no comparing to the far more expensive route but there's no comparison when the cost is factored in.

well since I recovered them after misplaced them for such a long time this is counted as the haul, right? found Dragon's Dream still in the envelope and still sealed Final Fight Revenge box set - probably good thing as this is the stinker.
