Went a bit crazy yesterday evening and spent a tiny bit more, bought myself a copy of Hyper Duel... woops. Auch.. The copy I can find on Ebay right now is worth more than my entire Saturn collection ( which is not that much, because I only have a few decent titles ). Still expensive title that Hyper Duel. Enjoy

Without more info it will be hard for even pro's like zyrobs to answer this question You could open up the system like he suggested and if you have a voltage reader ( looks something likes this: images.devshed.com/dh/stories/voltage_measurements/voltage_measurements-part1%5B1%5D_html_m404f5835.png ) you can check if the mainboard has power. If not , it might just be the powerunit. If you do and it still doesn't power on than its most likely the board. ) Than again: I'm a total noob when it comes to these things, so I'd advise to listen to zyrobs

Welcome to the forum.
For me its all about the games, not about platforms. I bought a Xbox360 back in the day just to play Star Ocean ( released on ps3 a year or two later ). I bought a psp for crisis core mostly. Still I enjoy certain consoles more than others. I prefer the playstations to the Xbox's. Never was that into Mario or Zelda, so Sega appealed more than Nintendo, but its all a matter of personal taste I guess.
I think it is nice that you ( being The Scholar ) can enjoy both Nintendo and Sega games.

Bought Layer section 1 on Ebay. Also have a bid standing for Batsugun. If I win the current bid it would be the most expensive game i bought for the Saturn so far . Its no Radiant Silvergun, but still it fairly expensive. Non sega buys: PSP Persona 3 and PS2 Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2.

I was getting these issues, the trick I find is to NOT minimize the emulator. Sounds insane right? Well, 12 works perfect for me, if i minimize it and try to bring it back up i get those random errors too. and everytime i try to load SSF it wont load but get those errors. the way to fix is to delete the SSF and SETTINGS notepad files then reload the exe, problem solved. Until you minimize again... so to put it simple, just dont minimise SSF xD Sweet. Good job posting this. THX !

Don't know about the Saturn version, but you're right Bubble Bobble is one of the games that one HAS to know. It's like saying one does not know Pac-man or Mario.
I've played this a whole lot on the pc and( Keyboard is fairly okay for 2 player games, although I guess this is one game that is better suited for consoles/arcade ) a bit on the nes if I'm not mistaken.

Assumption is the mother of all F*ck*ps? Anway, I tend to like Metal. Though it has its limits, Symphonic, Power, Doom , Gothic, is fine with me. I Like bands like Samael, My Dying Bride, Pantera, Opeth. What I'm not really into is the whole Black and trash. Too loud and disorderly for my ears most of the time. If I made the wrong assumption and you're just playing country music on that guitar: good for you!

Boss fights should be though and ( some ) length is acceptable, but it should never get boring. Decent game testing should be done. If should never be allowed to get to a point where it gets dull. RealBlue: That does look like cr*p. A real shame. I like good RPG's and good shooter too. O well if the rest of the game is good than just forget about this part

THAT'S GOOD TO HEAR... I'm sure Infernal will be sending you a PM shortly I must admit, the whole 'single' bit seems a bit strange!!? I don't think you'll be finding yourself a date around these parts in a hurry, even if you're ...the Batman. ;D Well you never know, but you'd most likely have to be into the whole male-male relationship thingy. Haven't seen that many female saturn fans on this board at least. If there is any kawaii japanese sega fan girl out there: I'm also single and not into the whole same gender loving... ( hmmm no takers I guess? ) Wonder if there is some Nippon-mailorder-bride website out there..

Welcome to the forum.
I'm fairly new here myself , but in the past few months I have been playing a fair bit of fighters on the Saturn:
* Dead or Alive - Feels really fast even though the grapics are dated , great game to play * Virtua Fighter 2 - Came with my japanese Saturn. Even by todays standards it still a great fighting game. Has a nice arcade feeling to it. even more fun with the saturn arcade stick. One minor drawback , the game has a fairly slow pace for a fighter * Fighting Vipers. - It has candy and the characters get their clothes beaten off. Even though its low res and graphically dated it is still a sexy and fun fighter. * Street fighter 2- Haven't really given this one the time it deserves, but it feels dated to me. Didn't like it as much as i used to like street fighter. This is my personal view. * Golden axe the dual - On my wishlist, but only played on emulator so far. Its mostly fun because of nostalgic reasons. I used to play Golden Axe 2 on the pc a wholeeeeeee lot. Great game, never knew ith had a fighter. I don't think playing the game on emulator will do it much justice, but from the impression I got it was better than I expected ( allthough there are plenty of better fighting games on the Saturn ) * Groove on Fight ( on my whishlist for sure ). This is an Atlus game and it looks nice, though gameplay is said to be lacking compared to Marvel vs. Game.
Selling the PS2 IS a mistake. The PS2 has so many games ( a lot of them are rubbish ) that it often hard to notice the gems it has. Yesterday evening i spend four hours playing Persona 4. Than again: There is only so much time and a lot of great platforms and games. Its expensive to collect for all and time consuming to PLAY on many platforms, so I'd only consider getting another PS2 if you really have an urge to do so.
Well that was roughly what I had to say. Have fun here. Lithuania seems like a nice place to live. I've been there a couple of times. Mostly Šiauliai where i had penfriends ( didn't last very long ) and Vilnius, but I also remember Neringa and port Klaipėda.

A bit of background: I used to have a Mega Drive when I was a kid and loved it, then my dad bought a PC and I got into PC games and spent silly amounts of time with X-wing, Civilization and different graphic adventures, because of this I missed the Saturn entirely and in all honestly I thought the Saturn was a bit of an embarrassment (sorry!) the problem was I knew nothing about it save for the odd glance at the tiny shelf space dedicated to Saturn games in my local game emporium. I didn't even know anybody with a Saturn and the one I got recently is the first time i have seen one in the flesh/plastic/metal and I have to say it is possibly the best looking console I have ever seen, I really like the look of the first model more so but both have a real grown-up, solid, premium look to them. Don't worry. I have the same gaming experience. ( Save for the X-wing, I allways preferred the Wing Commander series, Did play a lot of CIV though ). I doubt anyone can deny the Saturn was a commercial failure. Which is a real shame, because it is a great console and I dare say that it belongs out there with the best of them. Just like you I am only now finding out that it had some really great games.

Even with the right kind of cables S/video - scart NTSC RGB there are still stories out there of people that have problems with the picture quality. It is suggested that old CRT's work better.
I'm currently still playing with standard AV cables that came with my Japanese saturn on a European LCD. ( don't feel like i need more than 2 t'vs around ( Flatscreens both ) The Picture quality is poor too. I've ordered what are considered decent cables from EBAY (http://www.ebay.com/itm/200818825292?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 )
If these cables help ( the Image quality improves plenty ) I'll let you know.
