Full on new 2D Sonic game. This would have aged like the finest of wines.
Raiden 1,2,DX. PS1 got these but would have been great to see them on Saturn
2D update of Micro Machines or an isometric option.
An original R-Type game
Sub-Terrania II
Dragon's Fury / Devil Crash II
Castlevania IV - linear - none of that backtracking Metroid bollocks.
The version of Doom that should have been released (the one Carmack didn't allow).

I've started curating my collection. I don't collect for its own sake - I collect what I will play. So I don't see me going all-in on ROMs and solid state devices but my physical collection might get some more pruning. Not entirely sure yet.

The solid state device vs original cart or disc decision is very much a thing now.
I got an Everdrive for my Megadrive and it's made me look at my MD cart collection in a different way. It's a far superior option to emulation which has been around for ages and really does create a bit of a dilemma because it makes you think about why you are game collecting.
It's a much more compelling argument with disc based systems because of the moving parts.

Good to see someone else who likes Tempest 2000. I never played the original on Jaguar - the Saturn port was the first version I played. I've since experienced the original via Atari 50 on Switch and there are differences but Saturn still got a nice version. Saturn version has CD streamed music and it plays a bit smoother though one of the bonus levels is missing and apparently it has occasional collision detection issues later on in the game but I've never got that far or noticed them!

Wasn't rare to get a sealed import game in the late 90s - 00s. I wouldn't pay a premium for it nowadays as it isn't something I'm into.

Played a couple of games on Saturn today… Quick blast on power drift, slightly longer session on elevator action returns and finished off with another epic chase for high score on Battle garegga, came close but still making it far too difficult for myself on the 4th stage, loads of points to be had , but I can’t stay powered down and not die, and you need to keep your bonus rank high, which makes everything even more hectic. Love that game. Trinity of "bloody expensive games" on Saturn.

Athlete Kings/ Decathlete has a very clean look. The images are simplistic but they are very pleasing to my eye at least. Virtua Cop 1 & 2 - for the same reasons. That older simpler look with less texturing ages well. Radiant Silvergun still holds up - I prefer the original look to the higher def polish the modern ports got. Virtua Fighter 2 still has to take credit for its pleasing look even though I dislike the game and its genre. Haven't played it but footage of Last Bronx looks extremely impressive. I was surprised how well the Sonic World section in Sonic Jam looked when I went back to it. Looked pretty good. Sonic R has a polished look at well.

I have a 25" Samsung and a 21" Hitachi - to be honest both are excellent. The Hitachi may have slightly more vibrant colours but it's marginal. As long as it's a good recognised manufacturer you will be fine. I used to have a Panasonic and it was great as well. But.... Sony is still the preferred make I'd guess. I'd try and get a 4:3 one and ensure it supports RGB SCART. 4:3 ones are getting harder to find. You may end up having to get a widescreen set so just make sure to set it to "normal" or "4:3" mode. CRTs don't have a problem with displaying black. You might have to tolerate overscan so if you can get a TV that has vertical and horizontal hold controls that would be an advantage. If the set has an engineer mode you can fiddle with it but it isn't straightforward and you can screw things up if you aren't careful - better if there are controls for it. Or if it's not too bad (in most cases it's OK) just tolerate it. If you haven't played on a CRT before and you get a good one, prepare to be very pleased. There's still nothing like a good CRT with RGB SCART. Make sure you get a proper RGB SCART cable. Plenty of sellers on line. It is well worth it. And don't underestimate how deep these things can be - you need space between the screen and the wall!!

It will depend on how the game is coded. I suspect the games will look in port 1 and port 2.
I'll check it out over the weekend.
