Your English reads pretty good to me.
I'm a big fan of Japanese developed gaming so like you I'm pretty sad the way gaming has gone. It's great that Western gaming is very strong but it's sad that Eastern gaming isn't as strong as it was.

You might find a lot of people here wanting to make friends! Nothing quite like having a contact in Japan when it comes to retro game collecting!!!

Given those prices are in dollars I reckon that's a good deal - we in PAL land would pay those prices in pounds sterling which equates to a higher price.

My post might have looked like a criticism of not 1CC ing a shmup - wasn't the intention...getting to the last boss on 1 credit is impressive.

The fact that RSG is a Treasure game adds value too. I don't think it's a rare game - just it's in demand.
The Saturn disc was the only way to legally play it apart from a cabinet for a long time too. I was surprised it held its value when the XBL version was published. It is genuinely a collector's item now as a mint condition copy could pay for a used 360 and a downloaded copy of the game.

Systems do seem to fall in and out of favour. It's a question of timing it right. But the overall trend is upward. Given the number of games is finite this is only natural.
I've changed my ways re collecting now. Too often I bought games to own and not play. Not any more though. I had a clearout last year and haven't looked back with any regret. It means that anything I pick up will more likely be played and so it's OK to justify paying more. If I'm forking out more money for something like Battle Garegga - the cost of that equates to , for example, the complete Res Evil collection I had for Gamecube. There was no way I was going to play, never mind complete, those games. But a good STG? I will get lots of value out of that - STGs can last you years if you are of a compatible frame of mind.

I've credit fed my way through to the end of Darius Gaiden but with the auto-fire cheat activated (if that is a cheat - shmups.com forum accepts hi-scores that way)
As is always the case when I credit-fed - I felt pretty cheap. I credit feed occasionally and for certain games it's necessary in order to practice later levels but I still don't like doing it.

I'm in the market for an arcade cabinet.
I'm torn between several options.
1. My heart wants me to go for a classic refurbed dedicated cabinet from someone like tntamusements. (£1500 delivered to UK for an Asteroids Deluxe for example, though I have still to suss out import tax. Maybe there's a UK company that does similar? Haven't found one).
2. My head tells me a nice JAMMA cab will give me the flexibility.
The 3rd way is a Sega cabinet. What are my options? Can I swap out different types of board such as model 2 or model 3 on the same cab? Tempted to go this way so I can have games like Virtua Tennis and Sports Jam on a nice candy cab or similar. Are there cabs that have a CD/DVD/GD disc drive in them that load games into RAM?
How easy is it to swap control panels so I could consider getting a Daytona or Sega Rally set up? Is that possible at all? Can Sega boards work with JAMMA?
All help appreciated.
