Regarding Arcade Sticks in general: some people argue that it is important and helps increase your "skill level" and some people don't. Regardless, the experience is definetely different.
As Sych posted, those two arcade sticks do seem a better option. Hori has been an arcade stick brand for a looong time (they still make arcade sticks nowadays) and the Virtua Stick has a seimitsu joystick, which is also a quality brand.
I'm only familiar with arcade sticks when it comes to fighting games (virtua fighter, tekken, street fighter) so i really don't know how they would boost a regular game's experience. Although know this, if you have played in a Pad for your entire life be ready to find some difficulties in the transition to arcade stick. Sure it's fun, but then you'll feel "ok, this combo is so basic and i can't do it in the arcade stick".
The transition process takes time and patience. I tried several times moving over to arcade stick as i used to participate in fighting games tournaments (still do, but to a lesser extent) but the frustration of having to re-learn how to play a game always threw me back.
Still, if you want to mess around here and there, sure, buy an arcade stick.

Thanks for the welcome!
As i said, this is quite recent um my gaming investments, so i only have:
Panzer dragoon Panzer dragoon zwei Dragon ball z legends (probably the Mota popular game in Portugal when it comes to the saturn) Robo Pit
Sonic 3d, Virtua fighter 2 And virtual on will be arriving in the coming days. I'm negociating VF1 And nights. Still deciding if i buy a saga copy...
As far as popularity goes, the saturn wasn't too popular in Portugal actually. People moved from mega drive / genesis straight to the PlayStation. I was pretty much the "black sheep" of the group : p
Still, there is something about saturn games... it's not only about nostalgia, it's also a different gaming experience. Just look at panzer dragoon zwei's ost - it's superior to any ps1 final fantasy : p

Hello everyone,
My name's Nuno, from Portugal. I owned a Sega Saturn when i was a kid (my first console ever) but traded it for a PS one back in 99. Huge mistake now that look back...
My gaming investments have been focused in some Playstation series like Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Shin Megami Tensei, etc, but things changed drastically in the last few weeks.
My cousing (which has always been a Saturn fan) bought a Sega Saturn in incredible condition for me as a Christmas present and my collector's feelings brought me here! I pretty much moved from "i'm not buying anything untill Persona 5 comes out" to "oh crap, i really have to buy all the games i owned as kid and a Panzer Dragoon Saga..." : P
Anyways, i've been far removed of the Sega Universe with the exception of Yakuza and Virtua Fighter for a long long time, and this forum seemed like the perfect opportunity to compensate for the lost time : )
cheers!
