Too many to count: Legend of heroes, Xenoblade chronicles, Star ocean, Persona 5, Bravely Default sequel, etc, etc.
For the Saturn: I hope to get back into some Schmups. Plenty of options there.

Hmm good job on that Saturn. I'd hesitate taking on such a job. If the outside looks like this, the inside could be in bad shape too.. ( On the other hand it could be fine )
Hope your laser etc is good tho...

The JP version is totally playable, imho. Just requires a little bit of trial and error. As good as Saturn bomberman might be, it's not the sort of game that justifies a price tag of any more than $100, and even that's a stretch. I agree with the japanese version part. You only need an English version if you want to understand the storyline mode, but imo it adds very little to the experience. Bought myself a JP version of bomberman a year or two ago, for $15,- ( and 5 dollars worth of shipping ) . However, from a collectors point of view I expect Bomberman ( even the JP version ) to go up in price. With Hudson gone for some time now and bomberman getting older and the Saturn version being pretty damn good it will get harder to get a hold of a copy. 400 dollars is a bloated price, but i do think we'll see more ebay offers upwards of 100 dollars.

I'm missing Groove on fight. While it is far from the best fighter on the Saturn it isn't as bad as some others. It features some really nice graphics, though game mechanics could be a lot better. Certainly fun for a few games.

The answer is simple: Not enough to cover your costs even if you manage to keep costs to a minimum. The Saturn is a niche platform and has a small fanbase. ( A NES game would have a bigger target audience )
IMO You'd be lucky to sell a couple of hundred copies worldwide.
It's a pessimistic outlook truth be told. Wish it was different, because the idea for the game is really great.

My question is, now that we have 1ms latency TVs, do lightgun games work on them now? Has anyone tried? No, Buck alread explained why.

I am the definition of newbie lol. I got the system a few weeks ago, and I just wanted a few shiny games to have for the system. I was aware I could get the game used for like $10-15, but it was my first time importing, kind of wanted to make something out of it I guess? Anyway, I don't plan on overspending in the future lol. Thanks, guys You won't be the first one and won't be the last one to overspend. Don't see the problem really. Some people spend $200 on games they never play just to complete their collection. This also drives up prices and concerns me more. That said, a lot of people overpaying would increase the prices for all of us that much is true, so I do understand the comments. However in this case: big deal Oh and more to the point: enjoy your imports!

I've always found it odd that the Saturn never got any Star Wars or Star Trek games. More odd than anything else, mind you, since I get my sci-fi fix on the Saturn in spades with the likes of Solar Eclipse/Titan Wars, Enemy Zero, and Panzer Dragoon Saga. Wing Commander III was announced and even advertised for the Saturn. Probably just as well we never got it, I'd say... It's a decent game, but it feels much more at home on the 3DO than it would on the Saturn, and it gives 3DO fans one more game to cheer about that doesn't appear on every console of that generation. Wing Commander games have always been pretty demanding. I remember people buying new gaming pc's mostly to play Wing Commander. The only real good platform for these games were pc's imo. Don't get me wrong its good that consoles got these games too, everybody should be free to have the choice of platform. But having played WC 2 to 4, Privateer and Armada on decent pc's myself, I don't see the appeal of console versions of these games.

Although I wonder if it really doable to make such a game and how much of a market one can find for it. That's why A) doing our homework in advance, and B) probably going the Kickstarter route, are much needed previous steps for this. But after enough research we are 99% sure it's technically doable. Anyway. I'll keep an eye on these boards in case you guys have any questions I hope I'm very wrong but I doubt Kickstarter will provide you with the required funds. I mean: there are still plenty of Dreamcast and Saturn fans out there, but they'd have to be interested in homebrew and visual novels too, which will limit your target audience. The idea though is very nice and I do hope it will succeed.

Sounds interesting. The Saturn & dreamcast should be great for a platform for visual novels. Although I wonder if it really doable to make such a game and how much of a market one can find for it.
Good luck!
