My 3D pad's analog stick is really, really loose after years of repeated use. Ended up buying a brand new one. Difference is night and day.

Side Note: Don't use 0.12 beta R4. It's buggy. Go one version back to 0.12 beta R3.

Hi, I have been using SSF for some time now. However, recently the emulator has not been working correctly. Every time I load it up, all I get is the audio of the game booting up, and the screen remains blank.I can hear the game sound in the background but get no picture. When switching from windowed to fullscreen I can see the game a split second before it goes black again. It clearly runs the game just the screen won't show the game. I have tried numerous things, I have redownloaded SSF numerous times, be it the latest version or an older one, and still I get this problem. I have DirectX 11 installed, and still it isn't working. Please somebody help, I really love the Saturn and would hate to no longer be able to play its wonderful game library on my computer. My specifications: Graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon 5650 Processor is Intel(R) Core i5 CPU M430 @ 2.27GHz (4 CPUS), I am using Windows 7 64bit version Two things worth trying: 1. I know you already have DX11, but try running this installer -> www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=352. I see you're using a laptop. Try right clicking SSF.exe and under "Run with graphics processor," choose your Radeon card. Edit: Didn't realize this post was from May. I hope he already found his answer.

This thread probably would've been better off sticking to games that received better ports at some point or upgraded versions. Not sequels. Not games that are similar.

Hang On GP '96 ( > Hang on GP '95 and MANX TT ) Better than Manx TT? Seriously? And are you sure there's any difference between Hang-On GP '95 and '96? I've been under the impression that they are the exact same game. It just wasn't released in Europe until '96, so they changed the name. Yes. Hang On GP 96 on Saturn is BETTER than Manx TT on Saturn. I prefer the handling in Hang On. More tracks. Less horrendously obnoxious AI that cheat and rubberband you into a cheap loss. Haven't played Saturn Mode so can't comment on longevity etc. Yes. There's a difference between GP 96 & GP 95. They fixed an issue in 96 which meant you could turn powersliding on, or more importantly, off. Without the option to turn off the powersliding, imo, the original/95 is much, much less playable. I own GP '95, and yeah, it's practically unplayable. Good to know there's a fixed version.

It's an open source project, people do what they like. FWIW, I think Yabause has much more potential than SSF. Makes the lack of focus/progress all the more disappointing.

I always wondered why the people behind Yabause bothered porting their emulator to so many different platforms instead of taking the time to make it stable. I think they started developing their emulator around the same time as SSF, and SSF has been viable for ages.

So if you release it on Saturn, are you guys coming up with a way for non-modchip users to play it? Absolutely. That's what I meant when I said we were doing our homework. Well, more specifically, lead programmer Chui (who developed so many emulators and coded Pier Solar for Dreamcast, Windows, PS4, etc) is doing the research and he seems to have found the way I'm guessing Pseudo-Saturn. Still need a flashed memory cart for that though.

I'd avoid Han. He's slow and powerful, but not very interesting. Nicole is supposed to be the healer, but her barrier is the most OP attack in the entire game. She's totally broken, IMO. Ginjirou and Randy chain lots of physical attacks together. Randy also has a ton of strong magic, and it's quite easy to quickly replenish his mana. The unlockable character Serena has a good mix of physical and magic attacks. She's fun to play as too.
The text explains the story and then lets you choose your path through the game. Depending on which options you choose, you'll visit different locations, fight different enemies, and end up with different endings (there's quite a few of them). It gives the game some extra replay value.

Given the nature of the game, I take it you're going to have it running in the Saturn's hi-res mode, correct?

Suppose I'll have to keep an eye on this.
