Back on topic to CV, is there a way to unlock Maria (like with Richter) or is she selectable from the start? Also, does anyone know of a useful translation guide for the weapons and whatnot? Gamefaqs doesn't have one and can't seem to see anything else. I have the hankering to play some 'vania and it has been quite a while since I played SOTN! Maria is selectable from the start as is Richter. It doesn't play like SOTN with these characters mind, as in there is no RPG element.
No need for a translation guide, install Google Translate on your phone and use that but be prepared to use it a lot.
Also, if you have an XRGB mini you may want to give this a miss or play without it hooked up. It feels like it takes an age to view the map screen and that is amplified by the XRGB losing sync briefly as I guess the item menu/map screen is displayed in a different resolution.

I can only just see the picture, but the setting 3 clicks left from center. As Zyrobs mentioned above, it's pin 8 on the scart end, outer edge of the connecter/pin 21 is your ground.
Looking at that diagram though, it has a resister on pin 16 with a +5v feed. Zyrobs, does it give the 9v across two pins?

Right I've got myself a multimeter just need to work out how to use it as there's loads of settings. I will put up pictures with the ghosting from the rgb leads later You'll want a wiring diagram for the pinout of the cable, set your multi-meter to the lowest voltage (DC) that exceeds the expected output of the pin you're testing. So if its 9v, a setting of say 20v will suffice. Touch your multi-meter probes to the 9v pin and ground and you should get a reading.
It's a very cool piece of kit that I only started using when I wanted to figure out why my old SNES wouldn't power up. Very handy for things like testing fuses, power supplies, step-down convertors and testing for continuity. Be careful with it though, don't poke randomly as you will likely cause some damage.

Quite unusual that you would get that problem on two different Saturns, depending on where you got the RGB cable I'd be tempted to get another from elsewhere.
Not all TVs will have RGB enabled on all ports so be sure to double check that as well. Pop a picture up if you can, just to get an idea of how bad the image is.

Some emulator. "Best Saturn emulator" fails to detect controller inputs. Guess it ain't so hot after all ಠ_ಠ Haha dude you are clearly missing something, it works for everyone else. Like literally, EVERYONE else. As you keep saying, you're the only one with this issue yet it used to work for you. The fact you're asking which ini file (In response to Zyrobs) to delete tells me you have no idea what you're doing.
If you had used clean builds, then this step is effectively covered and your response, a constructive response to that would read something like "No point in clearing the .ini files, I've tried several builds with the default settings and I have the same issue".
I'm not trying to be harsh or anything here, but you're kinda beyond help at this stage. Handing your setup over to someone else, maybe using team viewer or something similar is the way forward in this case.

Hmm, drivers should make no difference if you actually done a clean OS install. Once a device is attached and installed via USB, it can be moved to any available USB port. If you had to install any drivers, the moment you move the device to another port the OS will go through the process again, identify that it has a .inf or something similar available and apply the same settings.
The application itself is likely just looking for a HID compliant device or something using directinput. At this point, I honestly just think you should buy a Saturn...

It creates one each time you upgrade your OS to a new version, if a .old folder already exists it adds zeroes to differentiate the past install folder.
If you don't use anything in those folders use the disk cleanup and remove them, they just consume space.

I wouldn't worry about drivers etc, Windows 10 will likely pick everything up without issue. Your old windows install will just be renamed as .old so you won't lose any of your old files.

It is resolved, you've clearly not tried EVERY solution that's been suggested to you. Different pads, different OS, different builds, clean OS install. One or a combination of these will work. Else take zyrobs advise and buy a fucking Saturn. Then I guess I need to buy a new computer because it must be broken. I spend all day doing most this stuff to no luck.
But, you don't have to be a jerk about it and say I didn't try to do any of that. If I did and it worked, I wouldn't still be here. At any rate, maybe the emulator just needs fixing; that is my final conclusion here. I have now put approximately 40-45 total hours into trying to fix this dilemma with no luck, so I am going to try to contact the creator of SSF again to see if he responds this time. What OS did you re-install? Did you try the emulator before applying updates? Which builds did you try? Does it take 45 hours to format a PC? Why am I bothering?
Good luck with contacting the author, as you have adamantly stated you're THE ONLY PERSON EVER to have this issue. If he does respond, he will likely ask the same questions as us and so the cycle continues.

Hey, can I ask? The 45w step down converter you recommended has arrived now and I'm awaiting the actual console that I've ordered. Is it really as simple now as me plugging the console's lead into the step down converter, then the converter into the plug socket? Also, as far as my TV is concerned, is it enough to buy one of those RGB leads and then using that to connect the Saturn to my TV? Sorry for being such a noob, it's the first time using an import console so I want to make sure I definitely get this That's pretty much it, you'll be wanting a decent quality RGB cable to go with it. Be wary of £5 ones on eBay, very hit and miss with quality. I always get mine from a user called thefoo83. Pricey but they are well built, Retrogamingcables.co.uk are also good.

If that "solution" was tweeting the creator for his contact email, I tried it and it did not work. Otherwise, if there was some subliminal response that I missed, do not say "it was already resolved" just quote what the solution was to save us both some time. I am a pretty dense person. It is resolved, you've clearly not tried EVERY solution that's been suggested to you. Different pads, different OS, different builds, clean OS install. One or a combination of these will work. Else take zyrobs advise and buy a fucking Saturn.

I had no issues whatsoever with SSF on Windows 8 or after the 8.1 update, did nothing special when running it. Still no issues now after updating to 10. This sounds a lot more like some kind of compatibility issue with something in the system. Also notshanes issue has actually been sorted if he reads, comprehends and uses Google for 30 seconds. Look, I spent hours "googling" it once and the only result that comes up with that error links to THIS thread that I posted. So, do not tell me right now that this is a "simple" problem. The drama...don't know how adept you are with PCs but have you tried a clean Windows install yet? As in the OS itself.

WANT WANT WANT WANT! This would save me having to mod to play back-ups of the games I'd never be able to afford, haha. There's a lot of them You could always buy an Action Replay cart and do the soft mod on that. Passes as a 4MB expansion that boots everything at the expense of sacrificing the backup functionality but I would wager it's a far cheaper solution.
Looks cool though, didn't know these even existed before this thread was started.

Yes mate, we've all spent the past couple of months studying your problems with SSF.
Again, you lack any information for what you have tried. It's like telling a mechanic you have an issue with a car, then when asked by the mechanic you just tell him it used to work. Brilliant.

He's gonna struggle to shift that. Actual value aside, i find the asking price to either be a piss take or just he hasn't noticed..445678, may as well have gone in with a price of 456789.
