Just listen to Zyrobs, he knows his stuff. I'd say that the majority of issues on this forum section have causes/solutions identified by this guy.
Why go to the extreme of replacing your lens over a single track on one game? I'd be concerned if it happened on several games, I have around 60 games and the sound does exactly the same thing as you described on one game; a battered copy of Sega Rally. Basic logic would suggest it's the disc.

Looking to cash in on the recent hiking of prices? Just use EBay as a rough guide.
I saw two copies of Hyper Duel go for £220+ last week, Battle Garegga is another pricey game and outside of Japan it's gonna be Panzer Dragoon Saga.
There are many more, too many to list, use the links posted above then scout Japanese EBay sellers like hit-japan or yamatoku.

There's already a thread on here, was posted a month or two back. It's on the second page of this forum section but uses Atlas to flash the cart.
Works great, used it on an AR4in1. Personally I thinks it's a great solution. I can't comment on the compatibility overall as I've only used it with about 3 backups. Of what I have tested it's worked without issue. The fact you only have to sacrifice the backup functionality of a AR4in1 cart over raping the CD spindle every time you disc swap is a no brainer.

Nothing wrong with Android, I would take it over any other mobile OS any day.

I have a Saturn that's similar but i've only ever used it with regular discs. Runs fine then change a game out and I can hear the disc spin up and the lens moving but no joy. Randomly comes back to life now and again.
Probably on its way out.

I had that back in the day, was my first taste of KOF. The complete version comes in a box. I highly recommend completing it with Athena's team, then crank the volume up a bit before the credits roll after the ending.

I RREALLLY want to play it but Ive been holding out to experience the superior Saturn version. If I'm not mistaken the PSX version is visually superior, in particular the FMV sequences but it lacks lightgun support. Not really an issue though as there are only about 5 shooting sections outside of the firing range.

Ouch, pricey. If you're new to importing games, especially from Japan then I would say that about 95% of the games I've imported all look like they have just been removed from the factory sealed wrap and are in immaculate condition. You quickly realise that buying sealed games isn't necessary.

Muchos gracias chaps. Just ordered some capacitors and an uprated switch, have a spare model 1 so I've swapped the power boards over until they arrive. If the additional capacitor is the same physical size as the 2200 already on there I can't see it sitting well on that section of the pcb but I guess I will find out soon enough.

Should add that if I reset it or pop the lid it's fine when it's been on for a while. So it only exhibits the fault when it's switched off and back on.

I've just come away from testing a Model 1 Saturn for a few hours, all working fine until I decided to turn it off and pop another game in and power it back up. At this point an audible whine can be heard from the drive, along with severe rolling bars/interface as it attempts to read the disc and fails miserably.
If I leave it off for 5 to 10 minutes after it has a flap it's good to go, no issues. But if it's been on for say 45 minutes and I power cycle it then it has a tantrum.
Only conclusion I can draw is overheating. Any other ideas?

The newer Sony Bravia HD sets have some of the lowest input lag around, fairly certain there was a review on schmups or somewhere and it was all positive albeit the RGB quality wasn't the greatest. With that said I'm more than happy with mine, if you're experiencing lag try adjusting the handling (in the options) from normal to quick.

Managed to complete Nekketsu Oyako on my first sitting. No credits left, last life and no health remaining. The music in this game is pretty awesome, once I was done playing I exited to the CD player and just sat there and listened to the entire soundtrack. Almost tempted to pick up my old guitar and put pen to paper for one or two of the tracks.
