Well its made by Treasure and Treasure are a company who's games you EITHER love them or hate them. As generally IMO there are loved by hardcore gamers and hated by casual... (probably because there is a bit of a learning curve)
The story is a lil' complicated at first but its pretty interesting.. Incidentally a true FF fanatic of mine mentioned that the main character Han looks like a dead ringer of Cloud (of FFVII fame)
If you like action RPGs then you should enjoy it. It gets very hectic at times to the point where you have no idea where your characters is onscreen. It also has multiple routes, hidden areas and different endings.
You will need to replay the game many times to unlock all 45 characters which you can select on the VS battle mode (and if you have a multitap up to 6 players can battle each other in the arena, the funniest battles are usually when you let the computer randomly generate your character)
One final note. if you have a uk/eu pal machine then you will have to get the uk PAL version of the game likewise if you have a NTSC machine then get the NTSC version of Guardian Heroes. The reason why is that you will get graphical glitches which are very distracting

I think it is rare. Not made by Capcom japan but Capcom USA. hype-g has this game and you can find some of his vids of the game (in hillarious form) on youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDqmmBq6XMYI'm pretty sure this was the last sega saturn capcom release in japan.

what version you gonna get? Japanese or uk/american?
The game is driven at times with voice. to tell which direction you need to take when you need navigation especially since you are playing against time.
Its a pretty good game BUT the camera angles can get very annoying and get you into trouble at times.
Once you complete the game for first time, when you replay it the maps will never been the same as they are randomly generated each time you replay
basically controlling either Tillis or Shou you are playing as a group of futuristic firefighters rescuing people on all sorts of missions.

soul blade had awesome graphics and that intro.. *gasps*.... but too me it played a bit slow.
Last Bronx had great graphics too but I didnt think it was a step about VF2 though.. but the action, violence was satisfying and fast.

the problem was around the time Saga was released the saturn's popularity had dwindled and Saturn just didnt get accepted well around the rest of the world so I guess the whole panzer games weren't a huuge success globally (despite being critically well recieved) although I'm pretty sure Zwei had hit around 300k units sold in japan alone..
Team Andromeda had disbanded after that each going to other sega programming teams.. If I can get off my ass theres a rare interview with the Team Andromeda guys just before the release of Panzer Zwei in one of the UK mags I could post up.. but image shack is being a pain and the size of the mag is larger than A4.. and I hate sites that resize images...
and as for Treasure games in some interviews made years ago.. I'm pretty sure they said they dont like making sequels... although recently they brought ones on GBA...

Grandia is excellent on the Saturn and so too is Grandia Digital Museum. Shining in the holy Ark is very good too although I hate the ugly rendered graphics of the enemy monsters. and as Superdeadite has mentioned; If you can import and don't mind paying a fair bit .. try USA version of Magic Knight Rayearth and Albert Odyssey - Legend of Eldean. You could also try these: Tengai Makyou IV - The Apocalypse Set around a fictional USA.. Basically its kinda a way of how the japanese view america.. ie music brainwashing kids, people getting hynotised by television, obesity etc.. Princess Crown Really REALLY pretty RPG. Not much to say on this except it really should have gotten a western release. If you also like Lunar SSS, Try Lunar 2 - Eternal Blue There is also Story of Thor II aka Legend of Oasis II

I really need to try and unlock the emerald zone... has anyone got any cheats for this??
Its never really been favourite game but I just love the graphics and music and I was hoping it could have played like mario kart but nuuuuuuu.....
and i gotta see emerald Zone on the HDTV to see if it really IS transparency to shut up the naysayers!!!
Sonic R should be owned even if you hate the game.. I think its one of those games (along Exhumed/Powerslave, Quake, Duke Nukem) where its basically a tech demo to show what the saturn can really do in the 3D arena..
Too bad it came out late in the Saturns life.. if Travellers Tales had came out with this much earlier on and licensed their 3D engine out to other software companies who knows what the future could have been for Saturn..

I love Vampire Hunter - Darkstalkers Revenge.
I can also reccommend Astra Superstars and Asuka Burning Fest 120%
Waku Waku 7 was an good conversion but those backdrops were really blocky and low res >_<
Xmen VS SF was awesome but Marvel VS SF imo was better!
out the 32-bit wars generally all the Street Fighting games were better.. although I was slightly dissappointed with the Super Street Fighter II X/turbo cause I didnt find it as smooth and because the music was from CD meaning it didnt loop.
One game im interested in getting some time in the future is Elan Doree and I also wanna get that Crows game.

You have to adjust the sensitivity of the analogue because its set up for the steering wheel i guess...
Ya the frame rate is bad but you suppose to race really fast.

well most of the japanese Saturn RPGs I wished they got a western release... SF parts II & III. Grandia, Lunar SSSC and Lunar Eternal Blue.. Black Matrix, Waku Waku Dungeon, Soul Hackers Devil Summoner, Princess Crown, Tengai Makkyou IV etc..
But they shoulda made a 32-bit version of Streets of Rage etc and a proper Golden Axe game!!!!

Dungeon Master Nexus - Got this free when I ordered some stuff from ebay sellers in japan... pretty slow dungeon crawler... and I mean SLOW! cried myself of boredom trying to play this..
Lupin IIIrd - The Sage of pyramid - actually this isnt too bad.. the idea for the gameplay is there (think anime characters meets tomb raider gameplay) and the FMV is real good quality and full screen but the 3D engine is really bad..like one of the early Saturn 3D games back in 1996 and runs around 15 frames per second.. this game came out in 1998..
Cant remember what else I disliked but I not played many bad stuff usually I prefer quality over quantity so bad stuff is generally avoided..
