Had this lot delivered yesterday: All have spine cards with the exception of the boxed games, quite chuffed to have landed the DOA:LE for cheap. Complete with the artbook thingy as well.

Just do not think that this thing will in any way shape or form compare to an XRGB. I don't, I'm not delusional. I've looked through several of your blogs, over on shmups and the NeoGeo forums among other sites. There's a reason it costs like £200 and not £20.

I wouldn't bother with one to be honest, the scanlines they produce aren't anywhere near accurate. It's by far the worst received Arcadeforge product, a novelty item at best. It's something I fancied trying out before I decide on whether or not an XRGB mini is worth the outlay. I've looked into a few other solutions, and I can't be doing with some of the setups suggested. If it was just me and the Saturn it would be fine but it's a matter of making room for daisy chained connections aplenty around an already crowded space.

I decided to order one of these as the raw output via RGB SCART on an HDTV is enough to make the eyes bleed. I'm not expecting miracles but it should ease the pain a bit if some of the feedback I've seen is to be trusted.
Wondering what the deal is with a male-to-male SCART connector though. I went through the expense of ordering a nice quality cable for my Saturn, i'd rather not end up twatting the quality with a crap pass-through between the SLG and my TV. Most of my searches though result in cables which cost 2.99 with "ALL 21 PINS CONNECTED" and after reading some of Zyrobs posts i'm a little dubious about the spiel used and what I actually need.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Think i'm just after the PAL PSX version now but it's one i'll have to drop a LOT of cash on. Have many other boxes to tick first so the Saturn version will suffice in the meantime.

In reference to the post above, your username reminded me of this:
Picked it up for what I feel was a bit of a bargain (£47) although I can now see why I was warded off by a fellow member. Port is pretty sloppy but my setup is mostly to blame, a lot of screen blur but i'm playing it raw on an HDTV.

Can this be played on a Saturn using an actual physical copy of the game? If so, how? Mod chip or disc hot-swapping.
The latter can be done quite easily but the CD drive motor will take a potential beating every time you do it, as will the discs you use.

Sony KDL48w605 for me, if you don't mind me asking is the XRGB mini worth it? What can it upscale the Saturn source output to? Quite curious about it as I'm also looking at dreamcasts and my TV doesn't have VGA, typical.

Ah okay. I wonder if there's more than one issue here, I'm seeing interference in light blue colours only on some machines, but actually it seems to happen all the time, not only when there's disc access. It's always there on mine as well but its marginal. Out of curiosity, what kind of TV are you using it on and how big is it? Stretching a low res image across a HD display is bound to amplify the interference making it easier to see, in my case anyway.

Hiya, nice collection. What other consoles you got hiding behind the MkII Master System?

So I've tried my Saturn with a cheapo RGB and the ones recommended in another thread on this forum (from thefoo83 on eBay) and the display and interference are identical. Quite easy to notice on the dash, when the disc seeks there's visible interference along the top of the screen, where the track detail is displayed.
Its not really notable in game, just on static screens if I'm paying attention. I'm using a 48 inch HDTV rather than a CRT so I'm just wondering if this is normal for newer TVs?
For what its worth, if you're interested do a search for Hellfire RGB they're about 1/3 the price of the more expensive cable.

I figured I had the same version of Saturn as this (oval buttons) until I opened it up, turns out I have a VA09(?) board and that set of jumpers isn't at the same location. I thought better of destroying my Saturn until I have a spare to fall back on. Apparently it works though.
