Thanks for the hospitality guys . I live in Flagstaff Arizona but am originally from Arkansas. Correct you are on me getting the US version of Astal. I'm really digging it so far! Man, I can definitely get behind a few more games in the same vein. Think I might start importing some games now. I am pretty happy Silhouette Mirage was ported to the Saturn (my old PS version was stolen a while ago) so I can finally play through it. I have been on the fence about getting some of the Sat Capcom ports of Street Fighter and Darkstalkers because I have a few of them for my capcom cps2 machine, but damn that Street Fighter Collections looks nice! That $150 though... Ouch! Saturn Bomberman looks amazing and I would love the US version but I don't think I can stomach $300 for a Bomberman game, lol. What are some games you guys wish made it to the old Saturn? I think a port of Aliens vs. Predator (cps2) and the original Guilty Gear would have been outstanding on the Saturn. I'm sure both would fetch a lot if they were ported back in the day. Secretly, I wish they would have made Bloody Roar for it, lol. Have a great week guys! Go for the Japanese versions of Street Fighter Collection and Bomberman, much much cheaper and language won't be an issue. Use an Action Replay to remove the region block. Silhouette Mirage will need that as well.

Has anyone else got a PAL copy of this? The screen shots on the back ofnmine are quite blurry- is this common?

Pays to not choose the club based on alphabetical order hey Derek? I see you soon saw sense! (Hehe) Ill be honest I take no sides I travel a ton. Been all over the world. I love sport and have many many favorite teams. EPL I never really fell in love. I followed Arsenal in the Henry days... other than that my heart as far as big Euro club soccer goes has always been with AS Roma of Serie A. But as far as Aston goes, they had some of our US players over the years, keeper most notable so that was fun to follow. You lost me at Arsenal buddy- big Spurs fan here. Although Brad Friedel ended his career at Spurs and is now on the staff so why not join the football connoisseurs?

I was in Burm briefly in my travels, saw a concert there. Other than I dont remember much. I think I briefly rooted for Aston Villa or Birm City in my early EPL liking days. Pays to not choose the club based on alphabetical order hey Derek? I see you soon saw sense! (Hehe)

Agree, it's far from a good platformer control and gameplay wise. But it is beautiful and just very quirky and interesting to play through. Although I admit its a bit "heavy" at first. I think its a great game overall once you get the hang of it. So my overall opinion of the game is that its a great platformer. Just handles different than most. Yeah I've enjoyes what I've played of it so far, about half way through, don't get me wrong. But it feels like one of those games you have to get used to awkward controls rather than them being intuitive. In contrast I played Donkey Kong Country Returns the other day on Wii, and that controls like a dream- you go exactly where you expect, with all sorts of intuitive movements.

I will admit the first couple times you play Astal your character does feel a bit heavy. Its not as smooth or as fast as alot of platformers that most were used to. Agree, it's far from a good platformer control and gameplay wise. But it is beautiful and just very quirky and interesting to play through.

Struggling to enjoy Pandemonium. I like the graphics but getting annoyed with constantly dying through the need to jump perfectly on enemies, and having to go back to the start. I think I might just be shite at platformers!

Have hooked up the Saturn to my brand new 55inch OLED HD TV, a Christmas present of sorts. Initially fearing the worst, it actually looks lovely through the Scart input. Bright, sharp and colourful. Well done Saturn!! The Wii by comparison looks horrible, have ordered a new Component cable.
Obviously, pixellation is pronounced but there's nothing to be done about that, and to be honest i quite like it.
Anyway, after a blast on Radiant Silvergun as a graphics test, I played Puzzle Fighter for the first time.
What a great little game, extremely addictive and nice and quick to get into. Quite a rush trying to keep up with the opponent on the later levels.

He's gonna struggle to shift that. Actual value aside, i find the asking price to either be a piss take or just he hasn't noticed..445678, may as well have gone in with a price of 456789. It's converted from Euros I think

I'd say you only notice this if you've played both versions. I really enjoy MSH PAL edition, it's very playable. Perhaps it would feel slow if you're used to the 60hz version. Like getting into my wife's 0.9 litre Fiat after driving a 2 litre turbo diesel!

Fighters MegamixIn 50Hz the controls are unresponsive and combined with the cheap A.I., the game is almost unplayable. In 60Hz, however, it's much more enjoyable, but still overrated, in my opinion. And many of the hidden characters aren't really playable (like the Daytona car, for example). Guardian HeroesWhile it's filled with great animation, a wonderful soundtrack, and lots of innovative ideas, I find the gameplay repetitive, so after a few levels, it becomes boring for me. I agree about Megamix, similar to the problems mentioned above with VF2. Love Guardian Heroes though.

I once thought the same about VF2. This game takes a lot of time to master. Once you have, it becomes sublime. I'm sure you're right but doubt I'll ever find the time to master it.

I'll start...
Virtua Fighter 2 is mine. Looks nice and smooth, a great tech demo. And fun enough for 2 players. But I find the characters forgettable, the moves uninspiring and the movement too... Floaty. Much much prefer Street Fighter games which are so much faster and more exciting.
As a bonus entry I have a lot of nostalgia for good old Sonic 1, particularly the music or watching people play it, but i don't actually enjoy playing it much myself. I esepcially hate it when his inertia makes it almost impossible to walk up a slope.

When the cockroaches inherit the earth after the next nuclear war, at least they'll have some awesome Sega Saturns to entertain their mutated super brains.
Love how tough these consoles are!
