How rare is the plastic case version of this? I keep looking for it on eBay but I'm getting a little impatient now and I'm tempted to just get the cardboard version.

My problem with Bahn is the same as Virtua Fighter's Akira, it's so difficult to pull of combos with him. I'm sure he's deadly when mastered though.

Wasn't sure about the whole Pepsi thing in the Japanese version, in a way it kinda spoilt the escapism.
What was Pepsiman like anyway?

There's a few big games that don't have threads or the thread titles were just questions. Might be useful if opening posts followed the format of the Fighting Vipers thread.

Does anyone have the official release date for this? The site currently has it down as 'Xmas 1996'.

While I don't want developers to all start trying to make ultra-realistic looking games, I wish those that do would find better ways of making character models/faces.
The latest Unreal Engine demo looks gorgeous, but the character's face looks too uncanny-valley.

The only fighting games that come close to looking as realistic are UFC and Fight Night. All the other developers seem to be in a phase of making their characters look like they're on steroids, just compare SF2 to SF4, or MK3 to MK2011.
I'd love to see what could be done with digitization and FMV on modern consoles, those types of games really weren't given a chance and I'm sure they don't always have to be like Plumbers Don't Wear Ties.

The Saturn version seems completely different to the arcade original though, half the animation frames are missing and it seems really unresponsive. Did Tantulus port it or something?

I've never played the Saturn version, but remember playing the arcade version and being blown away with the graphics while having no problems with the gameplay.
Arcade
Saturn
1.Why were the Saturn's graphics so poor? The fighters look blocky and faded, half the animations were removed and even the classy looking HUD was replaced with something that looked like a child's MS Paint effort!
2.Why, 17 years on, do 3D fighting games still not look as realistic as 2D digitized games like SFM and Mortal Kombat 3?
